  • GFDSA Holds Its Inaugural Annual General Meeting at Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur
  • Key Structural Milestones Achieved as Founding Nations Drive Governance and Global Expansion
  • KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA — 2023

  • The Global Federation of Direct Selling Associations (GFDSA) convened its first-ever Annual General Meeting (AGM) in a landmark gathering held at the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur City Centre. The meeting brought together founding representatives and key regional stakeholders from Malaysia, India, Indonesia, and Taiwan.
  • The AGM marked a critical milestone in GFDSA’s journey toward becoming a globally recognized, ethically grounded platform for uniting national and regional direct selling associations. The closed-door working session focused on solidifying the Federation’s internal governance and international standing.
  • Among the major highlights of the meeting were:
    1. Adopting the GFDSA Constitution laid a firm foundation for operational integrity, decision-making frameworks, and member responsibilities.
    2. The appointment of the Executive Committee and key working committees ensures effective leadership and regional representation in the Federation’s core structure.
    3. Discussions on strategic expansion, ethical compliance, and industry engagement aligned with the GFDSA World Code of Ethics.
    4. The resolution to formally register GFDSA in the United Kingdom as part of its global positioning and to establish a transparent legal framework with international recognition.
  • “The first AGM reflects our collective commitment to building a Federation that is truly inclusive, ethically driven, and representative of the needs of every market — from developed economies to emerging regions,” said a founding delegate during the session.
  • The event featured multiple roundtable discussions, strategic planning dialogues, and inter-association collaboration to empower local DSAs, strengthen governance, and shape global policy alignment for the direct selling industry.
  • GFDSA reaffirmed its mission to provide a non-monopolistic, collaborative, and transparent global body that recognizes the value of regional leadership and promotes the growth of domestic direct-selling companies alongside global players.
  • This inaugural AGM sets the tone for GFDSA’s long-term strategic agenda, which includes implementing continental working groups, regional summits, compliance training, and international advocacy on sustainable and ethical direct selling practices.
