  • Strengthening Regional Collaboration and Industry Solidarity in Southeast Asia
  • KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA – 10 July 2024

  • Committee members of the Global Federation of Direct Selling Associations (GFDSA) were formally invited to the 31st Anniversary celebration of the Malaysian Direct Distribution Association (MDDA), held at the prestigious Sunway Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
  • The commemorative event brought together key leaders from Malaysia’s direct selling industry, government representatives, and regional stakeholders, reinforcing a shared vision for ethical growth, consumer protection, and innovation in the Southeast Asian market.
  • GFDSA’s delegation, comprising representatives from India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, and other affiliated regions, was present to show solidarity with one of its founding member associations — MDDA — and to reaffirm its support for regional empowerment and cross-border collaboration.
  • The celebration also served as a platform for informal bilateral discussions between GFDSA committee members and local association leaders on topics including:
    1. Expansion of regional compliance frameworks
    2. Promotion of the GFDSA World Code of Ethics
    3. Talent and leadership development across member associations
    4. Strengthening the role of domestic companies within the global landscape
  • MDDA, established in 1993, has played a pivotal role in shaping direct selling policy in Malaysia, supporting consumer trust and business innovation. Its 31st-anniversary celebration honored its history and pointed toward the future of Malaysia’s direct selling sector as a regional leader.
  • As GFDSA continues to build bridges across continents, its event participation exemplifies its ongoing commitment to inclusive growth, regional leadership, and collaborative transformation in the global direct selling industry.
